Newton Advances To LIC Consy Championship

The Eagles tallied a 45-30 win over Paris. Newton outscored the Tigers 18-6 in the opening quarter and led 28-17 at halftime.
Kyle Schafer led the way with 19 points while Jarrett Tharp added 11. Schafer hit five field goals that included one three-poitner and was eight of 11 at the line.
Lawrenceville won the second contest of the evening by edging Flora, 52-50.
Newton improves to 14-9 on the season and will now face Lawrenceville at 5 p.m. Friday for the consolation championship.
In other games Friday, Casey-Westfield meets Olney for the championship at 8 p.m. and Marshall squares off against Robinson at 6:30 for third place.
