NEOGA -- South Central picked up a 52-46 high school boys National Trail Conference boys basketball victory over Neoga Tuesday evening.
The Indians edged ahead 13-10 in the opening quarter and led 24-21 at halftime. Neoga still was the leader after the third period by a 32-31 count. But the Cougars came back with a 21-14 final period to pull out the win.
Collin Miller led South Central with 15 points while Keenin Willshire added 13.
Neoga had a bright spot in the contest as Trevor Roy reached his 1,000th career point and finished with 20 for the contest. Paci McClure chipped in with 12.
South Central improved to 3-1 in the conference, 10-7 overall. The Cougars also claimed the junior varsity contest, 56-28. Neoga won a freshman/sophomore game, 24-23.

At Cowden
Altamont High School put together 80 points as Aiden Jahraus and Kaden Eirhart were the one-two scoring punch for the Indians. Altamont handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City an 80-38 loss in National Trail Conference action Tuesday.
The Indians ran out to a 26-10 opening quarter lead and led 54-23 at halftime. Jahraus tallied 26 points on nine field goals that included three trifectas and five of five at the line. Eirhart scored 23 on nine field goals which included five three-pointers.
CHBC was led by Jaden Robertson with 15 and Daniel Lucas with 12.

Dieterich High School pounded Oblong in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening, 78-15.
The Movin' Maroons swept out to a 25-4 opening quarter lead as Collin Hartke connected for eight points, hitting five of six free throws and a three-pointer while Derek Kuhl also scored eight on four baskets.
The Maroons led 48-7 at halftime. Three players hit double figures. Hartke led the way with 15 points while Kuhl added 14 and Cole Niebrugge 11.

North Clay (Louisville) tallied a 50-42 National Trail Conference victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday evening.
The Cardinals trailed WSS 30-23 at halftime then had a 12-4 third quarter to lead 35-34 going into the final perio. North Clay continued its momentum with a 15-8 final period.
Luke Fleener and Tyson Jones both scored 17 points for the winners who improve to 3-1 in the conference, 12-6 overall.
The Hatchets were led by Jordan Wittenberg with 10 points. WSS dropped to 2-3 in the conference, 9-11 overall.
North Clay also nabbed the junior varsity game, 47-28. and a freshman/sophomore contest, 33-28.

Newton High School picked up a victory over Flora in Tuesday evening action, 55-30.
The Eagles held a 28-15 halftime lead and had a 27-15 second half.
Kyle Schafer led the way with 17 points while Jarrett Tharp added 15. The Eagles improve to 12-7 on the season.
Newton claimed a junior varsity game, 49-30.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond came calling and picked up a win over Cumberland, 53-46 Tuesday evening.
The Pirates took the early 19-14 lead and led 29-23 at halftime. ALAH came back with a 15-9 third period to tie the game at 38-38. Then had a 15-8 final quarter for the win.
Cumberland was led by Ross Hemmen with 23 points and Wyatt Napier with 10.
