EHS, T-town Split Frosh/Soph Boys Games

Teutopolis claimed a freshman boys basketball victory over Effingham Monday evening, 44-38.
Breaking a 10-10 opening quarter tie, T-town edged ahead 24-22 at halftime and held a 34-25 lead going into the final quarter. T-town was led by Johnson with 11 and K. Smith with 10.
Effingham was led by Sean Zerrusen with 10 and Michael Woltman with nine. The Hearts freshman squad ends the season with an 18-3 record.
In the sophomore game, Effingham was a 62-55 winner. The Hearts held a 15-8 opening quarter lead but T-town came back with a 24-12 second period run to lead 32-27 at halftime. EHS then outscored the Shoes 35-23 in the second half to pull out the victory.
EHS was led by Michael Carie with 20, Braydon Bone with 19 and Kevin Daugherty with 11. T-town was led by Niemerg with 19, Gebben with 13 and Thoele with 11.
EHS sophomores finish the season with a 14-0 record.
