COWDEN -- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City played its last regular season boys basketball home contest Tuesday and it was eighth-grade night honoring the players and cheerleaders.

 

In seventh-grade action, CHBC fell to Sigel St. Michael 44-16. The Sharpshooters jumped out to a 17-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

D. Hoene and Croy led St. Michael with 16 points each.

CHBC was led by Ernie Villar with 10. CHBC drops to 6-4 in the National Trail Conference, 10-10 overall.

In eighth-grade action, St. Michael claimed a 33-29 victory. CHBC held a 17-14 halftime lead and a 28-22 lead going into the final period. From there, the Sharpshooters went on an 11-1 run to pull out the win.

Niebrugge tallied nine while Hatton had eight for the winners.

CHBC was led by Gage Lorton with nine and Carson Evans with eight. CHBC dropped to 7-3 in the conference, 9-8 overall.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) claimed two wins over Iuka in action Tuesday.

North Clay tallied a 50-21 victory in seventh-grade play.

North Clay then won 43-27 in the eighth-grade contest.
