Effingham and Taylorville split junior high boys basketball victories Monday evening.

 

Taylorville claimed the seventh-grade game, 47-35. Taylorville held a two point lead at halftime then had a 25-13 second half.

Belcher led EJHS with 14 points while Flack contributed 10. The Mustangs drop to 5-10.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham captured a 55-31 win. The Mustangs stepped out to a 16-8 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Raddatz led the way with 24 points while Fox chipped in with 11.

At Sacred Heart

Altamont Lutheran came calling and captured both victories over Effingham Sacred Heart Monday evening.

The Rockets won the seventh-grade matchup, 29-22. Altamont Lutheran held a 21-14 halftime lead. Schultz led the winners with 10 points.

Sacred Heart was led by Borries with 11.

In the eighth-grade game, Altamont Lutheran ran off to a 34-16 halftime lead and finished out with a 60-30 victory.

Elam tallied 14 for the winners while McManaway chipped in with 12.

The Shamrocks were led by Biggs with 17.

At Charleston

Teutopolis claimed two victories over Charleston in action Monday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade matchup, 32-26. Charleston led 8-7 after the opening quarter but the Shoes moved ahead 21-12 at halftime and held off Charleston in the second half.

Luke Niemerg scored 10 for the winners.

In eighth-grade play, T-town again trailed 13-11 after the opening quarter and moved ahead 19-18 at halftime and had a 17-11 third period.

Ethan R. Thoele scored 14 points while Joey Niebrugge added 12 for the winners.

At Ramsey

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up the seventh-grade win over Ramsey in Monday evening action.

CHBC won 45-21. AJ Radloff scored 13 while Ernie Viller tallied 10. The seventh-grade squad improves to 10-9.

In eighth-grade play, Ramsey edged CHBC, 37-36. 

Ramsey took a 10-8 opening quarter lead and led 17-15 at halftime. CHBC came back with an 11-8 third quarter to pull ahead 26-25. But Ramsey regrouped with a 12-10 final period for the one-point victory.

CHBC was led by Carson Evans with 11 and Gage Lorton with 10.
