SHELBYVILLE -- South Central edged Shelbyville 66-63 in girls high school basketball competition Friday.
Shelbvyille took a 14-13 opening quarter lead and led 28-23 at halftime and 51-44 going into the final quarter. The Cougars then came roaring back with a 22-12 final period to pull out the win.
Lane Webster led three players in double figures for the Cougars with 24. Halle Smith tallied 18 while Brooklyn Garrett chipped in with 11.
South Central is now 5-9 on the season.

Altamont tallied a 60-37 victory over Woodlawn in non-conference action Saturday.
The Indians moved out to an 18-9 opening quarter lead and never looked back.
Three players hit double digits for the Indians. Allyson Hardiek tallied 21 points while Brooke Runge added 12 and Mary Guse 10.
Altamont improved to 17-3 on the season.
The Indians also claimed the junior varsity contest, 30-22.

Three players hit double figures as Teutopolis handed Mount Carmel a 62-39 loss in Saturday action.
The Wooden Shoes ripped out to a 29-12 opening quarter lead and led 40-18 at halftime.
Lexie Niebrugge led the way for the Shoes with 21 points while Olivia Niemerg added 13 and Ciara Roepke 10. Niebrugge also led in rebounds with nine. Niemerg led in steals with three. Niemerg and Roepke had two assists each. Roepke blocked two shots.
