Cougars Split at Vandalia, Area Boys Tourney Roundup

VANDALIA -- South Central split victories at Vandalia in the Vandalia Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament Friday.

The Cougars edged Shelbyville 51-48. South Central ran off to an 18-7 opening quarter lead but the Rams came back with a second period run to lead 27-26 at halftime.  South Central then had a 13-9 third period and pulled out the three-point win.

Keenin Willshire led the Cougars with 22 points while Hunter Brandt chipped in with 12.

In the final game of the evening, Vandalia was a 68-51 winner over South Central. No other information provided.

South Central meets Father McGivney today at 5 p.m.

Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament

Altamont nabbed a final game Friday at the Sesser-Valier Tournament.

The Indians defeated host Sesser-Valier, 47-41.

Altamont again plays the final game of the day today against Christopher at 8 p.m.

 

Tri-County Holiday Tournament

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg pounded Westville 61-26 in the Tri-County Tournament Friday.

WSS will face Tri-County at 1:30 p.m. today and then take on Chrisman at 6 p.m.

 

Monticello Holiday Tournament

Neoga split victories at the Monticello Holiday Tournament Friday.

Ridgeview handed Neoga a 62-35 loss in the opening game.

Neoga then downed Clinton, 63-43 in game 11.

The finals are scheduled today as Oakwood meets Clinton at 2:30 for seventh place, Neoga faces GCMS at 4 for fifth place. Monticello takes on Ridgeview at 6 for third place. Tuscola and Paxton-Buckley-Loda meet for the championship at 7:30.
