TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis Junior HIgh School hosted a round robin with Highland and Centralia Saturday and split victories in junior high boys basketball competition..
The Wooden Shoes seventh-grade squad downed Prairie Central 31-23. T-town led 23-22 going into the final quarter then had an 8-1 run.
T-town was led by Carter Hoene with 12 points.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 35-30 winner. The Shoes held a 17-16 halftime lead then had a 7-3 third period run.
Eli Hanson scored 10 while Ethan R. Thoele added nine.
The Shoes fell against Centralia. In seventh-grade play, Centralia was a 32-28 winner. Centralia took a 13-5 opening quarter lead and despite coming back with a 16-13 second half, the Shoes couldn't pull out the win.
Luke Niemerg scored 14 for the Shoes.
In eighth-grade action, Centralia ran off to a 21-10 halftime lead and claimed a 43-30 victory.
Joey Niebrugge scored 11 for the Shoes.
In the other contests, Prairie Central downed Centralia 35-32 in seventh-grade play and Centralia won the eighth-grade contest, 51-31.
