Altamont, Dieterich, N. Clay, T-town Claim Boys Basketball Victories

The Indians ran off to a 20-12 opening quarter lead as Aidan Jahraus knocked in four baskets including two three-pointers for 10 points while Denver Duckwitz nailed two three-pointers and a regular basket for eight. Altamont improved to 4-0 on the season.
Newton came back to play Altamont even in the second period to trail 35-27 at halftime. Altamont then went back on a scoring spree in the third quarter with a 24-7 run as Eirhart again scored 10 points.
Eirhart finished out with 22 points while three other players reached double digits. Noah Teasley scored 15 while Duckwitz tallied 13 and Jared Kollmann added 10.
Newton had three players in double figures. Einhorn scored 13 while Tharp and Schafer added 10 each.
Altamont tallied a 61-53 win in junior varsity play. Winn scored 14 while Klimpel added 11 and Robbins 10. Newton was led by M. Zumbahlen with 17.

At Dieterich
Dieterich played host to Neoga in National Trail Conference play and claimed a 56-48 victory Tuesday evening.
The Movin' Maroons edged out to a 10-8 opening quarter lead then pushed that to 27-18 at halftime. The Indians came roaring back in the third quarter with an 18-9 run to tie the score at 36-36. Paci McClure nailed two three-pointers and a regular basket for eight while Trevor Roy added five on a three-pointer and a regular bucket and Nick Titus had a three-pointer.
Dieterich got its momentum back with a 20-12 final quarter as Collin Hartke hit three baskets and was three of four at the line for nine points while Derek Kuhl scored a bucket and was five of seven at the line for seven.
Kuhl finished leading the Maroons with 19 points while Hartke chipped in with 13.
Neoga was led by three players in double figures. McClure and Roy scored 16 each and Chase Banning added 11.

North Clay (Lousiville) stepped out to a 22-17 opening quarter lead and was never behind from that point on in an 82-51 National Trail Conference win over St. Elmo/Brownstown Tuesday evening.
The Cardinals had five players hit the double digit mark. Lane Holkenbrink led the way with 22 points connecting on 10 field goals that included two three-pointers. Luke Fleener added 18 on four field goals, including two trifectas, and was eight of 10 at the line. Tyson Jones scored 14 while Ethan Bible and Ian Bailey added 10 each.
SEB was led by Jacob Baron with 18 points while Jace McWhorter added 11 and Jaxson Tish 10. Andy Goldsborough pulled down eight rebounds while Baron had seven. Goldsborough also led in assists with five and steals with three.

Arcola handed Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg a 56-48 non-conference loss in action Tuesday evening.
The Purple Riders moved ahead 20-13 in the opening quarter and held a 36-27 halftime lead. The Hatchets came back with an 8-5 third period but couldn't overcome that first half deficit.
J. Wittenberg tallied 12 for WSS while Vonderheide added 10. The Hatchets are now 4-3 on the season.
Arcola also nabbed the junior varsity contest, 41-29.

Teutopolis edged out to a 14-10 opening quarter lead on Paris and went on for a 62-31 victory Tuesday evening.
Three Wooden Shoes finished in double figures. Evan Wermert tallied 13 while Jordan Hardiek scored 12 and Luke Ungrund 11. Wermret pulled down eight rebounds, had five assists and three steals. Matthew Deters had six rebounds.
"Our defensive execution was much betteri n the second half," said T-town Coach Chet Reeder. "Our patience on offense helped get us great shots."

South Central headed to Vandalia for a non-conference contest and fell to the host squad, 68-54.
The Cougars stepped out to a 12-10 opening quarter lead but Vandalia came roaring back with a 28-12 second period and that was the contest.
Wells tallied 15 while Austin added 10 for the Vandals.
South Central was led by Brandt with 19. The Cougars fell to 2-2 on the season.
Vandalia also claimed the junior varsity game, 76-62.

The Warriors held a 16-7 opening quarter lead and led 32-18 at halftime. The Pirates came back in the second half but it was too little, too late.
Livingston led the Warriors with 21 points while Branson added 17 and Hills 15.
Cumberland was led by Cutts with 24 and Hemmen with 10.
