Effingham tallied a 34-28 victory over Olney in girls freshman/sophomore basketball competition Monday.

The Hearts trailed Olney 11-8 after the opening quarter and 16-15 at halftime. Effingham then had an 8-4 third quarter run to lead 23-20 and outscored the Tigers 11-8 in the final period.

Lindsay Lohman led the Hearts with nine points while Marta Vert added eight.
