Effingham's seventh-grade team fell to Flora's eighth-grade squad, 45-9. The Mustangs trailed 25-5 at halftime. Pals led the Mustangs with five points.
In eighth-grade action, Cisne downed the Mustangs, 57-32. Effingham was led by Fox with 11 points.
St. Anthony downed Summersville in seventh-grade play, 57-42. The Bullpups took a 35-24 halftime lead. Samuel Link scored 16, Ryan Schmidt 14 and Lane Frost 14 for the winners.
In eighth-grade action, Fairfield edged St. Anthony, 38-30. Fairfield led 29-13 at halftime and 31-23 going into the final quarter. St. Anthony had a 7-4 final period run but fell short.
St. Anthony was led by C. Roepke with 14 points.

At Strasburg
North Clay (Louisville) won the Stewardson-Strasburg Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday.
Stewardson-Strasburg edged cumberland 31-27 in the opening game of the day. Stew-Stras held a 16-13 hafltime lead then had a 10-7 third period.
Gracey scored eight while Gurgel tallied seven for the winners. Cumberland was led by Buescher with 11 and McMechan with nine.
In the second game, North Clay tallied a 43-34 win over Pana Sacred Heart. North Clay led 20-18 at halftime then had a 10-6 third period surge.
The winners were led by Groves with 11 and Kuenstler with 10.
In the third place contest, Pana Sacred Heart defeated Cumberland, 51-21. Pana S.H. led 26-11 at halftime then had a 14-4 third period.
Cumberland was led by McMechan with eight.
In the championship game, North Clay edged Stew-Stras, 51-50. North Clay led 29-22 at halftime. Stew-Stras came back with a 13-6 third quarter run to tie the score at 35-35 going into the final quarter. North Clay then pulled out the win.
Dawkins tallied 16 while Weidner and Kuenstler added nine each for the winners.
Stew-Stras was led by Gracey with 31 points.

At Altamont
St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up two victories over Altamont in action Friday evening.
SEB won 39-15. SEB took a 17-11 halftime lead then pushed that to 29-13 going into the final period. Wilhour led the winners with 24 points. Altamont was led by Plum and Shafer with four each.
SEB then claimed a 43-10 win stepping out to a 29-6 halftime lead. L. Schroeder led the way with eight points for the winners while C. Maxey added seven. Altamont was led by Fenton with seven.
