St. Thomas stepped out to a 12-4 opening quarter lead and that was the game, 45-35, over Dieterich.
Kye Bergbower led the winners with 20 points. Dieterich was led by J. Holste with 10.
In the second contest, St. Thomas defeated Clay City, 40-10.
St. Thomas led 28-7 at halftime. L. Weber led the way with 10 points. Clay City was led by Newman with seven.

At Newton
Jasper County played host to Altamont and claimed two victories in action Tuesday.
Jasper County won the seventh-grade contest, 50-29. Jasper County led 20-16 at halftime then had a 30-13 second half run.
Jasper County was led by Lain Burgener with 13 points. Shafer led Altamont with 19 and Plum added 14.
In the eighth-grade game, Jasper County ran off to a 27-0 opening quarter lead and went on for a 65-23 win.
Caden Nichols tallied 15 while Parker Wolf added 12 for the winners. Arnold led Altamont with five.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) tallied two wins over Clay City in action Tuesday.
North Clay won the seventh-grade game, 41-17. North Clay led 12-2 after the opening quarter but Clay City rallied and took a 14-13 halftime lead. North Clay then came out with a 16-1 third period.
Landon Groves scored 13 and Will Hardiek added 10 for the winners. Clay City was led by Craig with six.
In eighth-grade action, North Clay downed Clay City 49-15. North Clay edged out to a 12-11 opening quarter lead then had a 14-0 second period.
Weidner scored 14 while Zimdars added 13 for the winners. Clay City was led by Craig with six.

Stewardson-Strasburg and Altamont Lutheran split victories in action Tuesday.
Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade matchup, 43-21. Stew-Stras led 13-5 at halftime then had a 20-9 third period surge.
Jackson Gurgel led the way for the winners with 17 points. Milleville led ALIS with seven.
In eighth-grade play, ALIS stepped out to a 20-5 opening half and went on for a 45-12 victory.
Three players hit double figures for the winners. Elam tallied 12, E. Miller 11 and McManaway 10. Stew-Stras was led by Connor Manhart and Colten Bridges with three each.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City fell to Shelbyville in opening round play of the Nokomis Eighth-Grade Tournament Tuesday, 40-26.
Shelbyville ran out to a 19-7 opening quarter lead and never looked back. The winners were led by Mason Jones with 14 points.
CHBC was led by Clayton Wojcik with 11.
