VanDyke Advances in Three-Point Shootout Along With Area Shooters

North Clay Lady Cardinal Kylie VanDyke advanced to the sectional round of the IHSA Queen of the Hill, Three-Point Shoot Out by making eight of 15 chances at Thursday's Class 1A Regional Tournament in Albion.
 
VanDyke will go to Goreville Thursday, February 14 which is the sectional tournament to shoot. VanDyke is really excited since during the first week of basketball practice she broke the bone in the top of her foot and tore three ligaments. She was just released from the doctor after Christmas and has only played since the first of the year.

South Central Regional Qualifiers

Advancing to the Class 1A Altamont Sectional are St. Elmo/Brownstown's Audriana Pruett and Dani Austin, Altamont's Madison Ohnesorge and CHBC's Ava Paruleski.

Neoga Regional Qualifiers

Advancing from the Neoga Regional to the Class 1A Altamont Sectional were E.C. Thies (Neoga), Makayla Walsh (Effingham St. Anthony), Candace Niemerg (Dieterich) and Taylor Wright (Dieterich).

Marshall Regional Qualifiers

Advancing from the Marshall 2A Regional to the Newton Sectional was Emily Kerner of Newton, the only 2A shooter in the area to advance.
