Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was successful against Effingham Sacred Heart in junior high girls basketball competition Tuesday.
CHBC won the seventh-grade encounter, 35-9, taking an 18-4 opening half lead. Jaylyn Allen and Birgen Schlanser had seven points each for the winners. Sacred Heart was led by Korina Hecht and Audrey LaSarge with four each. CHBC is now 4-2 on the season.
In eighth-grade play, CHBC was a 33-12 winner to improve to 4-2.
Ruby Stuckemeyer tallied 12 points for the winners while Marissa Summers scored 11. Sacred Heart was led by Katie Zeigler and Camille Zeigler with four points each.

At Louisville
Sigel St.Michael captured an eighth-grade win over North Clay (Louisville) in junior high girls basketball Tuesday.
St. Michael was a 43-33 winner. The Sharpshooters were led by Hatton and Hotze with 15 points each.
North Clay was led by Camdyn Tappendorf with 18 and Miah Ballard with 12.

Dieterich claimed two victories over Martinsville in action Tuesday.
Dieterich won the seventh-grade contest, 29-17. Dieterich held a 16-9 first half lead and never looked back. Kady Tegeler led the way with 14 points and Brittney Niemerg added nine.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg claimed two wins over Neoga in National Trail Conference action Tuesday.
Stew-Stras edged Neoga 19-17 in the seventh-grade game. Wittenberg scored six and VonBehrens five for the winners. Neoga was led by Richards with 13.
In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras won handily 33-11. Stew-Stras took a 22-6 halftime lead. Kinkelaar scored 12 and Vonderheide 10. Neoga was led by Eaton with four.
Stew-Stras improves to 3-2 in the conference and 3-2 overall in both seventh and eighth grade.
