Altamont claimed two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg in girls junior high basketball competition Friday.

In seventh-grade play, Altamont won 22-18. Reardon led the winners with 10 points. Wittenberg and Quast led Stew-Stras with six each. Stew-Stras is 2-1 in the National Trail Conference and overall.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont was a 41-22 winner. Nelson led the way with 21 points. Stew-Stras was led by Kinkelaar with nine. Stew-Stras drops to 2-1 in the NTC and overall.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed two wins over Ramsey Friday.

CHBC won the seventh-grade contest 28-13 to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Macee Rodman scored 16 for the winners.

In eighth-grade action, CHBC trounced Ramsey 49-12 taking a 25-7 halftime lead.

Shae Nohren scored 16 and Ruby Stuckemeyer 14 for the winners who even their record at 2-2.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael claimed a 28-14 win over Dieterich in the Sigel St. Michael Eighth-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.

St. Michael was a 28-14 winner.

Dieterich scorers were Miramontes 4, Westendorf 4, McWhorter 4 and Meinhart 2.

No statistics were turned in for St. Michael.
