TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis played host to Effingham St. Anthony in sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls basketball action and claimed all three wins Thursday.

In the seventh-grade contest, the Wooden Shoes won 21-14. T-town held an 11-3 halftime lead. C. Probst tallied nine for the winners. St. Anthony was led by A. Nuxoll with seven.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 31-14. The Shoes led 21-7 at halftime and never looked back. Vahling tallied nine points for the winners. St. Anthony was led by S. Kibler with six.

In the sixth-grade game, T-town had a 33-2 victory. A. Probst and Martin had six points each for the winners. St. Anthony's two points came from A. Weishaar.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg garnered two victories over St. Elmo/Brownstown in action Thursday.

In the seventh-grade game, Stew-Stras took off to a 6-0 first quarter lead and led 16-1 at halftime. Stew-Stras went on for a 25-7 victory.

VonBehrens led the way for the winners with 13 points. Logue, Durbin and Ward had two points each for SEB. Stew-Stras is 2-0 in the National Trail Conference and 2-0 overall.

In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras edged SEB, 20-17. SEB led 8-6 at halftime and the two teams were tied at 15-15 after the third quarter. Stew-Stras then had a 5-2 final period run.

Kinkelaar led the way with nine points. SEB was led by Ireland with six.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and South Central split victories in National Trail Conference play Thursday.

CHBC was a winner in the seventh-grade game, 23-10. Scoring was pretty even as Macee Rodman tallied six and Ellie Miller five. South Central was led by Kaitlyn Swift with five.

CHBC improves to 2-0 in the conference, 2-1 overall.

In eighth-grade action, South Central tallied a 41-29 victory. South Central pushed into a 23-14 halftime lead. Taehan Webster scored 23 for the winners.

CHBC was led by Marissa Summers with nine. CHBC drops to 1-1 in the conference, 1-2 overall.

At Cowden

At Dieterich

North Clay (Louisville) and Dieterich split victories Thursday evening.

Dieterich was the seventh-grade winner beating North Clay, 36-20. Dieterich held a 10-4 halftime lead and led 26-12 going into the final quarter.

Tegeler led the way with 18 points while Niemerg contributed 10 for the winners. North Clay was led by Mallory Boose with 10.

North Clay then edged Dieterich 25-24 in eighth-grade action.

North Clay held a 7-2 opening quarter lead and led 15-8 at halftime and 23-14 going into the final period. Dieterich came roaring back on six points by Veronica Miramontes only to fall short.

North Clay was led by Miah Ballard with eight and Camdyn Tappendorf with seven. Dieterich was led by Miramontes with 10.
