Cowden-Herrick Edges St. Anthony 69-64

COWDEN -- Cowden-Herrick had three players hit double figures in a 69-64 National Trail Conference boys basketball victory over Effingham St. Anthony Saturday.

The Hornets took the early initiative for a 21-11 lead and held a 36-24 halftime lead. St. Anthony came back with a 19-11 third period run to pull within 47-43 going into the final period. But the Hornets held on for the victory.

Luke Moore, a 6-foot-3 senior, led the Hornets with 20 points while Ethan Schoonover and Tyson Morgason tallied 18 each.

St. Anthony was led by four players in double figures, John Schuette with 15, Charlie Schultz with 13, Andrew Gardewine with 13 and Zach Gardewine with 11.
