WINDSOR -- Effingham St. Anthony High School claimed a 61-40 National Trail Conference victory over Windsor in boys high school basketball action Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs leaped out to a 21-6 opening quarter lead and continued that run, outscoring the Blue Devils 14-9 in the second period to lead 35-15 at halftime.
John Schuette, a 6-foot-3 senior, tallied 19 points to lead the Bulldogs. Also in double figures were Charlie Schultz, Alex Hoelscher and Jason Vogel with 12 points each. Jason Vogel led in rebounds with 11. Schultz had seven assists and Schuette five assists.

At St. Elmo
St. Elmo claimed a National Trail Conference win over Dieterich Tuesday evening, 55-44.
The Eagles jumped out to a 15-6 opening quarter lead and led 31-20 at halftime. St. Elmo continued its momentum with an 11-3 third period run.
Two players hit double digits for the winners. Levi Maxey, a 5-foot-11 junior, tallied 20 points while Connor Beasley, a 6-foot-4 senior, scored 15. St. Elmo is 4-3 in the conference, 12-10 overall.
Dieterich was led by senior Dalton Hinterscher with 20 and Tanner Traub with 10. The Maroons are 6-2 in the conference, 15-7 overall.

Brwonstown played host to South Central and the Cougars claimed a 67-52 National Trail Conference victory.
The Cougars' Fischer Tharp, a 6-foot-3 senior, tallied 22 points. Rudy Hablewitz chipped in with 14. South Central edged out to a 16-15 opening quarter lead and the score was tied at 31-31 at halftime. The Cougars then had a 17-9 third quarter run.
Brownstown was led by Jacob Behrends with 20 and Matt Sefton with 16. The Bombers are now 8-12 and will host St. Elmo Friday for Senior Night festivities including the Sports Boosters Winter Cookout.

Teutopolis claimed a 60-45 victory over Charleston but had to hold off the Trojans in the last minutes of the contest.
T-town led 10-9 after the opening quarter and 32-20 at halftime. The Trojans started a comeback bid in the third period with a 15-14 run and pulled within three with around four minutes remaining. But the Wooden Shoes' Derek Smith connected on six of his 14 points in the final minutes and Kyle Pruemer hit four of five free throws.
Pruemer tallied 13 points and had 14 rebounds. The Shoes are now 20-3 on the season.

The Indians held a 27-21 halftime lead and led by 10 in the third period when the Pirates went on a 14-5 run to pull within one point. Neoga's Wyatt Krikie connected on two free throws and Jake Baker made one for a 53-48 lead with 10 seconds remaining. Cumberland's Monte Wolke connected on a trifecta but the Pirates fell short.
Jake Baker led the winners with 18 points while Krikie and Michael Baker contributed 11 each. The Indians improve to 10-13.
Cumberland was led by Trevor Brumleve with 23 and Colton Ingram with 13. The Pirates drop to 3-21.
