St. Anthony Downs Newton in F/S Play

Effingham St. Anthony handed Newton a loss in freshman/sophomore boys basketball play Thursday evening, 37-26.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-5 opening quarter lead and never looked back. Grunloh was the lone St. Anthony player in double figures with 12. Jay Niebrugge and Jeff Niebrugge tallied eight points each. Grunloh had eight rebounds and Jeff Niebrugge six.

Newton was led by B. Mammoser with 16 of his team's 26 points.
