AP Names Class 1A, Class 2A All-State Boys Basketball Teams

The Illinois Associated Press Class 1A and Class 2A All-State Boys Basketball Teams were released. The teams are voted on by a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Teutopolis High School's Dawson Smith, a 6-foot-6, senior forward/guard, was named to the Class 2A Second Team.

Drawing Honorable Mention in Class 2A from the area were Jaccob Dust (Effingham St. Anthony), 6-foot-7, junior forward and Clint Weber (Teutopolis), 6-foot-7, senior foward.  Luke Richards (Casey-Westfield), 6-foot-5, senior center, also was named.

Named to the Class 1A First Team were Connor Heaton (Moweaqua Central A&M), 6-foot-5, junior guard; Christian Stadeli (Cissna Park), 6-foot-7, senior center; Tyriel Nelson (Providence St. Mel), 6-foot-2, senior guard; Coltin Quagliano (Kewanee Wethersfield), 5-foot-10, sophomore guard and Emmitt Gordon III (Madison), 6-foot-3, senior guard.

Named to the Second Team were Tyler Winchester (Sesser-Valier), 6-foot-2, senior guard; Jack Snook (Ottawa Marquette), 6-foot-1, senior guard; Deion Jackson (Providence St. Mel), 6-foot-3, senior guard; DeMarcus Williams (Chicago Collins), 5-foot-9, senior guard and Garrett Snow (Triopia), 6-foot-3, senior forward.

Named to the Class 2A First Team were Devon House (Sterling Newman), 6-foot-8, junior power forward; Fred Cleveland (Chicago Leo), 5-foot-10, senior guard; Malcom Miller (Shelbyville), 6-foot-4, senior guard; DaChaun Anderson (Chicago Leo), 6-foot-7, senior forward and Markese Jacobs (Chicago Uplift), 6-foot-0, senior guard.

Named to the Class 2A Second Team, along with Smith from T-town, were Dhashon Dyson (Chicago Corliss), 6-foot-1, senior guard; Bryce Bultman (Nashville), 6-foot-5, senior forward; Ryland Holt (Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley), 6-foot-5, senior forward and Tujautae Williams (Chicago Orr), 6-foot-6, senior guard.
