Bullpups Finish Fourth At Class 7-2A State Tourney

BARTONVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony finished fourth in the Class 7-2A State Boys Basketball Tournament Thursday.

Burr Ridge Middle School handed the Bullpups a 46-31 loss in the third place contest.

Burr Ridge stepped out to a 14-2 opening quarter lead and led 25-8 at halftime.

St. Anthony was led in scoring by Colin Westendorf with 12 points. St. Anthony ended the season with a 17-11 record.

Winning the state championship was Peoria St. Vincent de Paul over Decatur Robertson, 51-41.
