Hearts Post Conference Win Over Mt. Zion

Landon Wolfe poured in 34 points to lead the Effingham Hearts to a 71-52 win over the Mt. Zion Braves in Apollo Conference basketball action at EHS Gym.

Wolfe had 12 points by the end of the first quarter and 24 at halftime. He hit 12 of 14 from the line.

Two other Hearts were in double figures. Parker Wolfe scored 13 points and Drew Thompson scored 11 points. Cole Marxman celebrated his 18th birthday with eight points and Nate Thompson added five points as the five starters did all of the scoring.

Andrew London led Mt. Zion with 19 points.

Effingham won the JV game 60-40.

Jacob Briggerman led the JV squad with 21 points, while Tristin Duncan scored 16 points. Also for the JV Hearts: Ben Donsbach 7, Jacob Stoneburner 7,Tate Niebrugge 5, Dylan Ritz 2, and Wyatt Jones 2.

Effingham is right back into action Saturday afternoon with a game at Fairfield. This game replaces the weathered-out game at the Salem Tournament. The JV game will start at 3pm with the varsity game to follow.
