NEWTON -- Newton edged Olney in freshman/sophomore boys basketball action Thursday evening.

The Eagles tallied a 39-33 victory. Olney led 16-10 after the opening quarter but Newton came back to tie the score at halftime 22-22. The two teams were tied at 29-29 going into the final quarter. Newton then had a 10-4 run for the victory.

Mason Schafer scored 16 while Mitchell Zumbahlen tallied 10 for the winners.
