It was quite a night at Effingham High School.
First, the Hearts downed Vandalia 75-35 to finish the week with a 4-0 record and clinch the championship of their own girls basketball tournament Friday evening.
Second, Coach Jeff Schafer picked up his 400th career victory as a coach.
"Congratulations to both the team and Coach Jeff Schafer," said EHS A.D. Dave Woltman. "We will announce the remaining awards after the final games on Monday."
Still to play are Vandalia against Bloomington at 11:30 a.m. Monday and Bloomington facing Pana at 1:30 p.m.
In Friday's victory, the Hearts edged out to a 16-11 opening quarter lead and then pushed it into high gear in the second quarter with a 25-10 run to lead 41-21 at halftime.

Also in double figures were Natalie Carie with 12 and Miranda Fox with 11.
