LOUISVILLE --The National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament games were played Friday.

In the opening contest, Sigel St. Michael downed Effingham Sacred Heart, 34-23.

The second contest went to Neoga over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 37-23. CHBC took an 8-6 opening quarter lead but the score was knotted at 17-17 at halftime. Neoga moved ahead 27-20 going into the final period and held off CHBC for the win.

Brady Reynolds led the winners with 11 points. CHBC was led by Hayden Corley with 15.

The third contest went to St. Elmo/Brownstown over Windsor, 62-24.

The tourney continues tonight as Stew-Stras faces St. Michael at 4 p.m. followed by South Central taking on Dieterich at 5:15, North Clay faces Neoga at 6:30 and Altamont takes on St. Elmo/Brownstown at 7:45.
