Neoga Boys, Girls Drop Contests at Monticello

MONTICELLO -- Neoga High School lost in both boys and girls action at the Monticello Holiday Tournament Wednesday.

In girls competition, the Indians fell 50-32 to Tuscola. Tuscola swept out to a 22-9 opening quarter lead and never looked back.

Audrey Ramert tallied nine points to lead the Indians. Neoga drops to 7-9 on the season and will be back in action today twice against GCMS and Argena-Oreana.

In other games, Monticello beat Stark County 35-29, Paxton-Buckley-Loda downed Ridgeview 48-44, GCMS won over Argenta-Oreana 62-37, Monticello beat PBL 49-28 and Ridgeview edged Stark County 48-42.

In the boys contest, Neoga held a 13-11 opening quarter lead but Tuscola had a 22-10 second period and never trailed again.

Neoga was led by two players in double figures. Trevor Roy scored 17 while Reece Johnson added 11. The Indians take on GCMS and Argenta-Oreana today.

In other games, Paxton-Buckley-Loda beat Ridgeview 60-54, Monticello won over Oakwood 35-32, GCMS bounced Argenta-Oreana 62-33, Ridgeview edged Oakwood 53-52 and PBL defeated Monticello 54-49.
