MARSHALL -- Effingham St. Anthony split victories in junior high boys basketball action Saturday with Marshall.
In the seventh-grade contest, the Bullpups won 44-34. Marshall took a 10-9 opening quarter lead and led 22-21 at halftime. Marshall continued to hold the lead with a 30-28 third period edge. St. Anthony then came back with a 16-4 final quarter to pull out a 44-34 victory.
Max Koenig tallied 13 while Beau Adams scored 11 for the winners.
In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony held a 7-1 opening quarter lead but Marshall came back to take an 18-14 halftime tally and went on to dominate the second half.
The Bullpups were led in scoring by Willenborg with 13 and Levitt with nine.

At Champaign
Effingham and Champaign Edison split victories Saturday.
In the seventh-grade contest, Edison dominated with a 54-16 victory. Editon led 28-4 at halftime.
Effingham was led by Raddatz with four points.
In the eighth-grade game, the Mustangs tallied a 54-31 victory over Edison.
Tanner Pontious scored 16 and Garrett Wolfe 13 for the Mustangs. Wolfe led in steals with six. Pontious had nine rebounds while John Westendorf seven.
The Mustangs improve to 11-3 on the season.

Stewardson-Strasburg split wins with Maroa-Forsyth.
In the seventh-grade game, Maroa-Forsyth ran off to a 21-1 opening quarter lead and finished out with a 42-12 victory.
Stew-Stras was led by Gracey with five points. Stew-Stras drops to 5-7.
In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras claimed a 45-36 victory. Stew-Stras led 22-17 at halftime then had an 11-6 final quarter.
A. Wittenberg tallied 19 while Nothaus added 12. Stew-Stras is 12-0.
