Dieterich and Cisne captured victories in the Class 8-1A Effingham Sacred Heart Girls Eighth-Grade Basketball Regional Tuesday.

Sacred Heart took a 7-6 opening half lead but Cisne came back with an 11-3 second half run for a 17-10 victory.

Reagan Beckel led the winners with six points. Sacred Heart was led by Emma Helmink with five.

Dieterich then pounded Martinsville, 45-15.

Dieterich stepped out to a 20-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game. Morgan Esker tallied 20 points while Marie Niemerg added nine for the winners.

Sigel St. Michael will meet Cisne at 6 p.m. Thursday while Dieterich takes on Oakland Lake Crest at 7:15. The winners advance to the championship Friday at 6 p.m.

Class 8-4A Urbana Regional

Effingham advanced to the championship game of the Class 8-4A Urbana Regional with a 32-15 win over Mattoon Tuesday evening.

The Mustangs held an 11-2 opening quarter lead and led 15-8 at halftime.

Marissa Allie tallied 13 points for the Mustangs while Madison Mapes added seven. The Mustangs improve to 19-2 on the season.

In the second game Charleston downed Urbana, 44-17.

Effingham will now meet Charleston at 6:30 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship.

Class 8-2A Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Regional

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ended Effingham St. Anthony's season with a 37-24 victory in its own regional Tuesday.

CHBC led 19-9 at halftime and played St. Anthony pretty even in the second half. Gracie Heckert tallied 10 for the winners while Madison Wojcik scored nine.

St. Anthony was led by Anna Faber with 10 points.

In the second game of the evening, Altamont downed Brownstown/St. Elmo, 28-22.

SEB held Altamont scoreless while taking a 5-0 first quarter lead. SEB led by one at halftime. Altamont then had a 17-10 second half.

Claire Boehm led Altamont with 10 points. SEB was led by Avery Myers with eight.

Class 8-4A CHBC Regional

Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional

Teutopolis moved into the championship game of the Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional with a victory Tuesday evening.

T-town downed Marshall, 28-20. T-town had a big first half, taking off to a 17-7 lead.

Emily Konkel led the way for the Wooden Shoes with 12 points while Courtney Gibson chipped in with six.

In the second contest, Paris Mayo defeated Cumberland, 35-29.

T-town will now meet Paris Mayo at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the regional championship. The Shoes go into the title game with a 23-3 record.

Class 8-2A Palestine Regional

North Clay (Louisville) will play for the championship at the Class 8-2A Palestine Regional.

North Clay downed Red Hill (Bridgeport), 37-13 in the first game Tuesday evening.

In the second contest, Palestine edged Edwards County (Albion), 28-26.

North Clay and Palestine square off at 6 p.m. Thursday for the championship.
