LOUISVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony started off with five players scoring in the first quarter as the Bulldogs took a 15-11 opening quarter lead in boys high school basketball. The Bulldogs continued to maintain control and went on for a 59-37 National Trail Conference win over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday evening.
St. Anthony held a 36-21 lead going into the final period then had a 23-16 run for the winning margin.
Dust tallied 22 while Ludwig totaled 10. Hoene chipped in with eight.
The Cardinals were led by Miller with 12 points.
St. Anthony claimed the junior varsity contest, 67-27 and won a freshman/sophomore game, 21-16.

Dieterich edged Cisne in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening, 49-37.
The Movin' Maroons trailed Cisne 11-8 after the opening quarter but took a 23-17 halftime lead. The Maroons led by seven going into the final quarter. The Runnin' Lions then made a charge with a 14-10 final period but fell short.
Dieterich had one player in double figures, Evan Bohnhoff with 16. Collin Hartke chipped in with seven.

At St. Elmo
South Central went overtime before pulling out a 59-54 National Trail Conference win over St. Elmo/Brownstown Tuesday evening.
The Eagles held a 9-6 opening quarter lead and pushed that to 18-12 at halftime. SEB held a 35-22 lead going into the final quarter and that's when the Cougars came back to life. South Central went on a 25-12 tear to tie the score at 47-47 sending the game into overtime. South Central maintained control and had a 12-7 run for the victory.
Lotz tallied 31 points, connecting on seven field goals and 15 free throws. Willshire added 11 points and 10 rebounds. Roberts had eight points and 10 boards. The Cougars improve to 1-0 in the NTC, 4-1 overall.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Goldsborough with 19 points and Pruett with 10. The Eagles drop to 0-1 in the NTC, 3-2 overall.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a 58-55 non-conference win over Sullivan Tuesday.
The Hatchets stepped out to a 16-9 opening quarter lead but Sullivan came back in the second period to take a 28-23 halftime lead. WSS then had an 8-2 third period and a 27-25 final quarter.
Bennett led the way for the Hatchets with 18 points while Miller added 13. Smith and Burton chipped in with nine each.
Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 3-2 on the season while Sullivan dropped to 1-1.
Sullivan claimed the junior varsity contest, 36-30.

Neoga claimed a National Trail Conference victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday evening.
CHBC took a 14-11 opening quarter lead behind Martin's six points. Neoga came back with a 19-9 second period run to lead 30-28 at halftime and 46-41 going into the final quarter. The Indians then had a 14-8 final period.
Roy tallied 20 points while Peters added 16 for the winners.
CHBC was led by Martin with 22 points.
