Effingham St. Anthony picked up two victories over Jasper County in boys basketball competition Monday evening.

St. Anthony won the seventh-grade contest, 55-17. The Bullpups held a 32-8 halftime lead.

Teddy Dietzen led the way in scoring with 12 points for the Bullpups. Parker Wolfe led Jasper County with eight.

In eighth-grade action, the Bullpups picked up a 34-23 victory. The score was tied at 5-5 after the first quarter. St. Anthony moved ahead 13-11 in the second period and led 21-18 going into the final quarter.

Hoene and Sager led the Bullpups with eight points each. Jasper County was led by Nick Shamhart and Marc Jansen with six each.

At Effingham

Effingham picked up two victories over Dieterich in competition Monday evening.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game, 39-15. Effingham jumped out to an 11-2 opening quarter lead and had a 10-2 third period.

Fox and Raddatz scored 11 points each for the winners who improve to 3-6. Dieterich was led by Ja. Holste with 10 points.

In eighth-grade play, EJHS was a 54-32 winner. Effingham led 20-13 at halftime and had an 18-6 final period.

Wolfe tallied 17 points and had six steals while Dillow had 10 points. Wolfe and Estrada had six steals each and Pontious led on the boards with 15.

Dieterich was led by Britton with 10 points.

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran Interparish captured both games over St. John's Monday evening.

Altamont Lutheran won the seventh-grade game, 44-20.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont Lutheran was a 46-25 winner.

 

At Sigel

Teutopolis claimed two B game victories over Sigel St. Michael.

In seventh-grade action, T-town was a 34-25 winner with a 12-7 opening quarter.

C. Davidson led the way for the Wooden Shoes with 11. St. Michael was led by Niebrugge with nine.

In the eighth-grade B game, T-town won 42-12. T-town took a 9-0 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

Hoene scored 12 for the winners while Schwerdt added nine. The Sharpshooters were led by Hoene with three.

Altamont captured two victories over Windsor in action Monday evening.

Altamont won the seventh-grade contest, 28-23. The score was tied at 11-11 at halftime before Altamont had a 13-4 third quarter.

Fenton tallied nine points for the winners. Robinson led Windsor with 10.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont claimed an easy 45-8 victory.

Hammer led the way with 13 points for the winners. Windsor was led by Rinker with three.

St. Elmo/Brownstown and Stewardson-Strasburg split victories Monday evening.

SEB won the seventh-grade game, 34-20. SEB took a 21-8 halftime lead.

Schaub tallied 11 and S. Maxey eight for the winners. Stew-Stras was led by Manhart and Gracey with seven each.

In the eighth-grade game, Stew-Stras won 45-32 with a 16-6 opening quarter surge.

A. Wittenberg scored 19, Nothaus 14 and J. Wittenberg 12 for the only three players who scored for Stew-Stras.

SEB was led by Campbell with 15.

At St. Elmo

Pana played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and captured two victories Monday evening.

Pana won the seventh-grade contest, 46-31. Pana held a 23-22 halftime lead then had a 23-9 second half.

CHBC was led by Clayton Wojcik and Gage Lorton with eight points each.

In eighth-grade action, Pana was a 41-29 winner. The score was tied at 16-16 at halftime before Pana went on a 14-3 third period tear.

CHBC was led by Hayden Corley with 12 and Trevor Theis with 10.
