The Mustangs defeated Mattoon, 27-21. Effingham held a 17-8 halftime lead.
Volpi tallied 10 to lead the Mustangs while Boone chipped in with eight. Effingham improves to 15-6 on the season.
In the opening game, Charleston defeated Urbana, 33-15.
Effingham will meet Charleston at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship.
Class 7-4A Effingham Regional

Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional
Teutopolis and Paris Mayo will meet for the championship of the 7-3A T-town Regional tonight after winning Monday evening.
Paris Mayo edged Robinson Nuttall, 19-10 in the opening contest.
T-town then downed Jasper County, 32-18. The Wooden Shoes stepped out to a 10-5 opening quarter lead and had a 12-5 third period run.
Isabelle Zerrusen scored 17 to lead the winners who improved to 24-2.
T-town will face Paris Mayo tonight at 6 for the championship.
Class 7-3A Teutopolis Regional

Class 7-2A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional
Effingham St. Anthony opened Monday evening with a 35-21 win over host Stewardson-Strasburg.
The Bullpups led 8-2 after the first quarter and 11-4 at halftime. They had a 13-5 third period.
Geen scored 13 while Niebrugge added 10 for St. Anthony. Stew-Stras was led by Kinkelaar with seven.
In the second contest, Altamont defeated South Central, 57-31.
St. Anthony and Altamont will meet for the championship tonight at 6.
Class 7-2A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional

Class 7-1A Dieterich Regional
Sigel St. Michael handed Effingham Sacred Heart a 28-10 loss in the Dieterich Regional Monday.
Sacred Heart had beaten Martinsville, 35-20 in action Saturday.
In the second game Monday evening, Dieterich downed Oakland Lake Crest, 25-12.
Sigel St. Michael will now face Dieterich tonight at 6 for the championship.
Class 7-2A Casey-Westfield Regional
North Clay (Louisville) pounded Palestine/Hutsonville 42-19 in the opening game of the evening Monday at the Casey-Westfield Regional.
In the second contest, Edwards County (Albion) won over Red Hill (Bridgeport), 31-14.
North Clay will meet Edwards County at 6 p.m. today for the regional championship.
