BEECHER CITY -- Stewardson-Strasburg and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split girls junior high basketball victories Friday.
Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade game, 37-19. With a 16-6 halftime lead, Stew-Stras had an 11-4 third period.
Kinkelaar tallied 16 for the winners. CHBC was led by Abbi Morgason witn seven. Stew-Stras improved to 12-4.
In eighth-grade action, CHBC was a 39-19 winner. CHBC led 24-6 at halftime and that was the game. Mady Wojcik scored 11 and Gracie Heckert nine for the winners. Stew-Stras was led by Kinkelaar with nine and dropped to 6-15.

Seventh-Grade Regionals
Class 7-2A Stewardson-Strasburg Regional
Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont and South Central were opening round winners in the Stew-Stras Regional Saturday.
The Bullpups beat Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 23-12. St. Anthony took a 9-0 first quarter lead.
M. Kibler tallied seven for the winners. CHBC was led by Allen and Nohren with four each.
In the second contest, Altamont pounded Neoga, 40-2. Altamont held Neoga scoreless through the first three quarters.
Nelson tallied 13 and K. Osteen 12 for the winners. Hewlein scored two for Neoga.
The third game went to South Central over Brownstown/St. Elmo, 42-30.
South Central held a 28-13 halftime lead. BSE came back with a 9-4 third period but South Central had a 10-8 final quarter.
Webster scored 34 points for the winners. Seabaugh had 15 for BSE.
The regional continues tonight with St. Anthony taking on Stewardson-Strasburg at 6 p.m. followed by Altamont facing South Central at 7:15.

Class 7-2A Casey-Westfield Regional
Palestine/Hutsonville edged Oblong, 21-20 in the opening game of the Casey-Westfield Regional Saturday.
In the second contest, Edwards County (Albion) downed Casey-Westfield, 32-18.
The regional continues tonight as North Clay (Louisville) faces Palestine/Hutsonville at 5:30 followed by Red Hill (Bridgeport) against Edwards County at 6:30.
Class 7-3A Teutopolis Reiognal
Paris Mayo won the opening game of the Teutopolis Regional by downing Cumberland, 32-20.
In the second game, T-town pounded Lawrenceville, 59-8. The Wooden Shoes held Lawrenceville scoreless in the second and third quarters.
Isabelle Zerrusen scored 12 for the winners. T-town improves to 23-2 on the season.
In the third game, Jasper County defeated Marshall 30-5.
Tonight's games will have Robinson Nuttall taking on Paris Mayo at 6 followed by T-town meeting Jasper County at 7:15.

One game was contested at the Effingham Regional Saturday.
Charleston claimed a 39-3 win over Danville North Ridge. Charleston now advances to face Urbana at 6 p.m. today followed by Effingham taking on Mattoon at 7:30.
