SHELBYVILLE -- Shelbyville claimed two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high girls basketball play Tuesday evening.
Shelbyville won the seventh-grade game, 24-17. The Bullpups held an 8-6 halftime lead but Shelbyville came back with an 18-9 second half for the win.
St. Anthony was led by Geen with six points.
In the eighth-grade contest, Shelbyville claimed a 31-26 victory. St. Anthony led 15-10 at halftime. The score was tied at 20-20 in the third quarter. Shelbyville then pulled it out with an 11-6 final period.
St. Anthony was led by Schwing and Lucy Fearday with eight each.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg downed Effingham Sacred Heart in both games Tuesday.
Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade game, 25-1. Kinkelaar tallied eight to lead the way. Stew-Stras improves to 13-4 on the season. Hecht scored the lone Shamrocks point.
In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras won 22-10. Stew-Stras led 14-4 at halftime. Kinkelaar scored 11 for the winners who are now 4-11 on the season. Sacred Heart was led by Zeigler with four.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis scored 23 points in both the seventh and eighth-grade games against Paris Mayo Tuesday and won both contests.
T-town won the seventh-grade game, 23-16. The Wooden Shoes took a 14-5 first half lead. Ellie Thoele scored seven to lead the Shoes who improve to 12-2.
In eighth-grade action, T-town edged Paris Mayo, 23-21. The score was tied at 12-12 at halftime before Mayo took a 16-15 lead going into the final quarter. T-town came back with an 8-5 run.
Emily Konkel led the way with 10 points while Katie Kremer added nine. T-town is now 13-1.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split wins with Pana Sacred Heart in action Tuesday.
Pana Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game, 35-32. CHBC took a 10-9 opening quarter lead and led 17-14 at halftime. Sacred Heart came back with a 14-8 third period run and that was the game.
CHBC was led by Ruby Stuckemeyer with 17 and Marissa Summers with 13. CHBC drops to 10-6.
In eighth-grade play, CHBC was a 45-29 winner. CHBC zipped out to a 22-13 halftime lead and had a 17-8 third quarter.
Gracie Heckert tallied 20 for the winners while Mady Wojcik added 13. CHBC improves to 14-2.
