Effingham Junior High School at Hoosier Gym.

Effingham Junior High School played Mattoon at Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana Saturday.

In the A eighth-grade contest, Effingham claimed a 53-26 victory. Tanner Pontious scored 19 points while Garrett Wolfe added 16 for the Mustangs.

In the eighth-grade B competition, Effingham was 24-16 winner. The Mustangs were led by Myles Maxedon with five.

In seventh-grade A action Effingham was a 40-23 winner. Raddatz led the way for the Mustangs with 15 while Fox added 12.

In the B seventh-grade contest, Mattoon edged the Mustangs 18-16. Leading Effingham was Darkow with five points.

The contests were played at the gymnasium pictured in the movie "Hoosiers".
