SALEM -- Effingham Junior High School captured two wins over Salem Franklin Park in girls basketball Friday.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 33-19. Effingham jumped out to a 12-0 first quarter lead and never looked back.
Boone and Hodge tallied seven points each for the Mustangs who improve to 8-1.
In eighth-grade action, Effingham stepped out to a 16-4 opening quarter lead and held Franklin Park scoreless in the second half.
Ella Niebrugge tallied 20 for the Msutangs while Aila Woomer added eight.
