Dieterich earned the top seed for this year's National Trail Conference boys basketball tournament.
The Movin Maroons' win over Altamont Friday night helped seal the top seed.
NTC officials gathered Saturday morning to decide the seeds. Dieterich got five first place votes.
Altamont got the #2 seed, Stewardson-Strasburg the #3 spot and Cowden-Herrick the #4 seed. Altamont got two first-place votes while Stew-Stras received four first-place votes. The difference was that Dieterich was either one or two on every ballot except one where they got a third place vote, and Altamont was one or two on every ballot except two where they got third place votes. Stew-Stras got one second place vote, but also got three third-place votes and two fourth-place votes.
St. Elmo is the #5 seed, St. Anthony #6, Brownstown #7, Neoga #8, Beecher City #9, South Central #10, and Windsor #11.
The tournament opens Monday, January 21 at Altamont Community High School. Hear every game of the tournament this year on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com. We will also provide video streaming of every game at the tournament again this year.
