The Houston Rockets scored a franchise-record 50 points in the third quarter of Monday night’s Game 5 of their playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves and turned a one-point halftime lead into a 119-100 win, putting them up 3-1.


Bogut Retires

Former NBA No. 1 draft pick Andrew Bogut has retired from the league and plans to play the next two seasons with Australia’s Sydney Kings. Bogut was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers in January.


Pelicans Pick Up Option

The New Orleans Pelicans have picked up the option on coach Alvin Gentry for next season. Gentry recently led the Pelicans to an opening-round playoff sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers.
