Dieterich, Teutopolis Win Girls Games; Area Roundup

DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School pushed its record to 9-3 on the season with a 56-28 win over Palestine/Hutsonville in girls basketball competition Monday evening.
The Maroons had two players hit double figures. Candace Niemerg tallied 17 and had a double-double with 12 rebounds. She also led in steals with five and assists with four. Courtney Flach chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Palestine/Hutsonville was led by Calee Fulling with 10 points.
Dieterich won't return to action until after Christmas when it plays host to its own tournament.

Teutopolis jumped out to a 20-5 opening quarter lead and never looked back in taking a 40-29 victory over Flora.
The Wooden Shoes had one player hit double figures. Madeline Hartke tallied 10 while Haley Giles and Cierra Thompson scored nine each.
Flora was led by Warren with seven.

Altamont ran into a buzzsaw against Mowequa Central A&M and fell 74-37.
Central A&M ran off to a 42-17 halftime lead. Jordan and Bailey tallied 10 points each for the winners. Central A&M improves to 13-2 on the season.
Altamont was led by Madison Ohnesorge with nine points while Macy Wendling tallied eight and Lauren Ohnesorge seven.
