Carsyn Fearday Named All-State

Effingham High School's Carsyn Fearday earned Class 3A All-State Second Team honors as voted on by a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Fearday is a 5-foot-7 junior guard for the Hearts, who finished with a record-breaking 31-3 record. The Hearts lost in the Springfield Super-Sectional to Breese Central, 37-31. Fearday scored 11 points in that game.

Also named to the Second Team were Shae Littleford (Charleston), 5-foot-7 freshman guard; Myia Clark (St. Viator), 5-foot-7 senior guard; Antwainette Walker (Wheaton St. Francis), 5-foot-11 senior forward and Lauren Shanks (Bloomington Central Catholic), 5-foot-5 junior guard.

Named to the First Team were Tenley Dowell (Morton), 6-foot-1 junior guard; Kourtney Crane (Peoria Richwoods), 5-foot-6 senior guard; Maggie Bair (Glenboard South), 6-foot-3 junior guard; Camryn Taylor (Peoria Richwoods), 6-foot-2 junior forward and Ambranette Storr (Rockford Lutheran), 5-foot-9 sophomore forward.

Honorable mention went to Havilyn Dulin (Rochester), Annie Stritzel (Nazareth Academy), Kai Koehler (Dunlap), Vannessa Garrelts (Woodstock Marian Central), Kathryn Schmidt (Burlington Central), Kaelyn Froebe (Lincoln), Faye Meissner (Breese Central), Kaylee Eaton (Bethalto Civic Memorial) Anna Broski (Stillman Valley), Josi Becker (Morton), Jamie Martens (Maple Park Kaneland), Precious Browning (Bishop McNamara), Jenni Weber (Maple Park Kaneland) and Jaida McCloud (Peoria Richwoods).
