A parade through the village on a sunny Sunday afternoon was followed by a Welcome Home ceremony in J.H. Griffin Gym for the Teutopolis Lady Shoes. The squad captured third place honors at the 2A State Tournament Saturday evening with a come-from-behind 45-32 win over the Eureka Hornets.

Coach Laurie Thompson focused on the season and her players, taking the good-sized crowd gathered game-by-game through the post-season. Thompson spoke of the contributions from every player on the squad, and talked about what a good team this year's bunch became, especially following the mid-season ending injury to defensive specialist Savannah Grimes, as the group needed to work together to overcome losing her.

Other speakers represented the team, the school system and the village, as well as a parents' representative and boys coach Jason Hanson.

Teutopolis Superintendent Bill Fritcher served as Master of Ceremonies.
