BOYS BASKETBALL

Casey-Westfield 73, St. Anthony 70 (The Warriors came from behind in the second half to hand the Bulldogs just their third loss of the season in the last game of the regular season. If it's any consolation to Bulldogs fans, Casey-Westfield also beat St. Anthony in the final regular season game last year, and the Bulldogs went on to win the 1A state championship. St. Anthony led 16-12 after one quarter and 38-31 at halftime. Casey-Westfield poured in 24 third quarter points to lead 55-54 going to the fourth period and outscored the Bulldogs 18-16 in the fourth quarter to win by three. St. Anthony missed two three-point attempts at the buzzer that would've sent the game to overtime. Alex Deters scored 23 points to lead St. Anthony, while Cade Walsh scored 14 points, Adam Levitt 11 points, and Alex Beesley 10 points. Also for the Bulldogs: Jack Nuxoll and Brandon Runge four points each, and Luke Ludwig and Jaccob Dust two points apiece. Richards scored 22 points to lead the Warriors, one of four players for C-W to reach double figures. The Bulldogs start post-season play Tuesday night at the Vandalia 2A Regional against the Pana/Sullivan Monday night winner. St. Anthony won the JV game 55-21, as Jaccob Dust scored 14 points)
