Frosh/Soph Tournament Results -- Feb. 6

HILLSBORO -- Effingham claimed a victory in the Hillsboro Freshman Boys Basketball Tournament Tuesday.

The Hearts defeated Auburn, 71-50. EHS trailed 13-12 after the opening quarter but nailed 26 points while allowing Auburn only 11 in the second quarter.

Tristin Duncan led the Hearts with 22 points while Max Woelfer added 14.

St. Elmo Frosh/Soph Tournament

Dieterich captured the championship of the St. Elmo Freshman/Sophomore Tournament Tuesday.

Dieterich downed North Clay (Louisville), 63-47 for the title.

Coliln Hartke scored 18 while Matt Hunzinger and Derek Kuhl added 12 each and Dalton Will finished with 11.

North Clay was led by Ethan Bible with 15, Lane Holkenbrink with 14 and Ian Bailey with 10.

All Tournament Team members were Jack Westendorf (Dieterich), Collin Hartke (Dieterich), Ethan Bible (North Clay) and Blake Noll (North Clay).
