NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony lost its opener to Teutopolis in the Neoga Freshman/ Sophomore Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday.

T-town picked up the 64-50 victory. The Shoes led 35-22 at halftime and 48-40 going into the final quarter.

Hemmen tallied 20 for the winners while Hardiek added 13 and Koester 10.

St. Anthony was led by Logan Antrim with 11.

In the second game, St. Anthony defeated Cumberland, 63-28. The Bulldogs led 31-15 at halftime and 58-23 going into the final quarter.

Kayden Fearday scored 18 while Aaron Webb tallied 13.

Cumberland was led by Dill with 12.

At Hillsboro

Effingham competed in the Hillsboro Freshman Tournament Saturday  and beat Pana, 56-43.

The Hearts led 31-21 at halftime and 46-32 going into the final quarter. EHS was led by Drew Thompson with 21 points and Max Woelfer with 14.
