CHAMPAIGN -- Teutopolis High School handed Bloomington Central Catholic a 56-39 girls basketball loss in action at Parkland College Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes ran off to a 14-2 opening quarter lead and that was the game.

Sadie Bueker tallied 16 while Macy Michels chipped in with 14. Michels led in rebounds with nine while Bueker added eight. Mariana Hemmen led in steals with three. Michels had three blocked shots.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed Dieterich as two National Trail Conference teams met, 54-48 Saturday.

The game is also the annual sister contest as Coach Carolyn Wendte guided CHBC to the win while her sister, Donetta Ohnesorge coaches Dieterich.

Dieterich ran off to a 16-7 opening quarter lead but CHBC came back with a 24-6 second period run and then held off the Movin' Maroons in the scond half.

Jaelyn Robertson, a sophomore, scored 22 points to lead CHBC.
