Effingham and Teutopolis split freshman/sophomore boys basketball victories Saturday.
In freshman play, the Hearts picked up a 45-40 win. EHS stepped out to a 16-9 opening quarter lead and held off T-town in the final quarter.
Drew Thompson scored 18 for the Hearts. T-town was led by Hardiek with 15.
In the sophomore game, T-town claimed a 43-35 victory. The Shoes led 27-19 at halftime and 34-29 going into the final quarter.
McMahon scored 13 and Addis 12 for the winners. Effingham was led by Kyle Pemberton with 14.
