Elks Hoop Shoot Winners Advance to District

Effingham Elks Hoop Shoot winners advanced to the District Hoop Shoot from the East Central District Elks Hoop Shoot that took place at Pana High School January 14.

Results of the Effingham Shooters:

Boys 8-9 year-old -- 1st Carter Verdeyen (Effingham), 20 out of 25

Girls 8-9 year-old -- 2nd Izzy Meinhart (Newton Elementary), 10 out of 25

Girls 10-11 year-old -- 1st Ella Kinkelaar (Stewardson Trinity Lutheran), 17 out of 25

Boys 12-13 year-old -- 2nd Austin Wittenborg (Stewardson-Strasburg), 19 out of 25

Girls 12-13 year-old -- 2nd Lanie Tedrick (Altamont), 16 out of 25, shoot-off, four out of five

Boys 10-11 year-old -- Adam Flack (Sacred Heart), DNP

 All first and second place winners received trophies. Medallions were given to all participants.

Kinkelaar and Verdeyen will be advancing to the Illinois Elks Association State Hoop Shoot in Decatur February 24-25.
