Effingham High School graduate Grant Wolfe is a point guard for the Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team.

Wolfe has competed in 14 games and has 32 rebounds, is averaging 3.8 points a contest and 2.1 assists. He has 10 steals and is hitting 77.8 percent from the free throw line.

The 5-foot-11 freshman guard got some high praise from Coach Ron Rose in an article in the Bloomington Pantagraph.

"Grant gives the team a different dynamic. He has that bulldog mentality on the defensive end. Offensively, he can create off the bounce for other people. The last few weeks we've seen better decision making and his comfort running the offense improving as well."

Illinois Wesleyan sports a 12-3 record and will host Millikin Wednesday in a 7 p.m. contest.
