Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis picked up wins in the St.Anthony Freshman/Sophomore Boys Basketball Tournament Monday evening.
St. Anthony defeated Dieterich 68-37. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 23-9 opening quarter lead and that was the game.
Justin Ruholl led St. Anthony with 14 points while Eli Moore had 13 and Logan Antrim 12.
Dieterich was led by Brummer with eight.
T-town handed Effingham a 47-40 loss. The Wooden Shoes led 19-18 at halftime and by two points going into the final quarter. The Shoes then had a 20-11 run for the victory.
Jordan Hardiek led the Shoes with 16 points while Evan Addis chipped in with 14. Hardiek nailed 10 points in the final quarter run while Addis had five.
Effingham was led by Drew Thompson with 19 and Tristin Duncan with 12.
Effingham and Dieterich will play for third place at 6 p.m. followed by T-town against St. Anthony at 7:15 for the championship.
