Atlamont Lone Area Team to Pick Up Girls Win

ALTAMONT -- Altamont High School captured a 74-26 win over Ramsey in girls non-conference basketball competition Monday evening.
The Indians stepped out to a 17-5 opening quarter lead and never looked back, leading 48-10 at halftime.
Only one player scored in double figures. Jacie Hosick led the way with 19 points. Tinley Mette, Brooke Runge and Rachel Jackman scored eight each.
The victory gives Altamont a 17-4 overall record.

Teutopolis High School suffered its second straight loss, this one at the hands of Bethalto Civic Memorial, 55-42.
Bethalto took an 18-10 opening quarter lead and led 32-18 at halftime. The Shoes had a 24-23 second half but it wasn't enough.
Sadie Bueker tallied 13 points while Macy Michels added 11 for the Shoes. S. Bueker had three assists. Michels had four blocked shots. Jolene Bueker led the Shoes in rebounds with seven. Morgan Mette led in steals with two.

The Vandals led 34-8 at halftime and never looked back. Marquardt scored 20 points while Kern added 10 for the winners.
South Central was led by Katlyn Hilmes with eight points. The Cougars drop to 2-15 on the season.

Four players hit double digit for the Panthers. Funneman scored 17 while Ashcraft added 16, Schoonover 13 and Holthaus 11.
Neoga was led by Andrea Estay and Mary Hill with 12 points each. The Indians drop to 9-11 on the season.

The Wolves led 29-6 at halftime and that's all it took. Cammon tallied 23 for the winners.
Newton was led by Allison Harris with seven points. Claire Carr pulled down five rebounds.
The Eagles drop to 3-2 in the Little Illini Conference and 12-7 overall. The Eagles are back in action Saturday at Casey against Marshall in the LIC Tournament at 7:30 p.m.
Newton won the junior varsity contest 32-20.
