Charleston, Vandalia, Pinckneyville Holiday Tournament Pairings Released

Pairings have been released for the Charleston Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament along with the 41st Annual Vandalia Boys Holiday Tournament and the Pinckneyville "Duster Thomas" Boys Hoops Classic.

CHARLESTON HOLIDAY GIRLS TOURNAMENT

The tourney will open competition Thursday, December 27 with four games on tap beginning at 2:30 p.m. The meet will continue Friday with eight games beginning at 9 a.m. and end Saturday with the seventh-place game at 2:30 p.m., the fifth-place game at 4 p.m., the third-place game at 5:30 and the championship at 7.

Entered in the Gold Pool are Effingham, Taylorville, Rantoul and Decatur Eisenhower. Entered in the Red Pool are Charleston, Paris, Urbana and Galesburg.

The Vandalia Tourney opens with action Wednesday, December 26 with seven games on tap beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the last start at 8 p.m. The tourney continues with seven more games Thursday and six Friday. The tourney comes to a close Saturday with the ninth-place game at 2 p.m., the seventh-place game at 3:30 p.m., the fifth-place game at 5, the third-place game at 6:30 and the championship scheduled at 8.

In Pool A are Flora, Pana, St. Elmo, Greenville and South Central. In Pool B are Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont, Maroa-Forsyth, Vandalia and Shelbyville.

In Pool B are Trenton Wesclin, Steeleville and Olney. In Pool C are Teutopolis, Benton and Jerseyville and in Pool D are DuQuoin, Lombard Montini and Lawrenceville.

The tourney opens Friday, December 28 with six games in the Thomas Gym and six games in the Auxiliary Gym. Saturday action features Gold Pool play starting at noon, Silver Pool play starting at 9 a.m. and Bronze Pool play starting at 9 a.m.
